Frequently asked questions
Can you connect to my computer when I'm not there?
No. The app installs nothing and does not run in the background – it works only while you have it open yourself. Every connection needs a one-time password that you read out to us on the phone. Closing the window ends the session.
What can you see and do once connected?
We see your screen and can use the keyboard and mouse, transfer files, use the clipboard and audio – that is what it takes to fix a problem rather than just look at it. We do not record sessions.
Does the app stay on my computer?
No. It is a single file – it installs nothing and leaves nothing running. When we are done you can delete it or keep it for next time.
Who can learn my ID and password?
The password is one-time – it changes every time you start the app. We only ever ask for it by phone. Do not give it to anyone else.
Why does Windows warn about an unknown publisher?
The app is new and has not been downloaded many times yet. Windows measures trust by download count rather than by whether the app is safe, so the warning says nothing about viruses. A certificate would not remove it straight away either: since 2024 even signed new apps still show it. The warning fades on its own.
Where does the connection go?
Only to our own server – not to the public RustDesk servers. Nobody else joins the connection.
